Youngju Oh, Minister of SMEs and Startups, attended the ‘Korea-Japan Venture & Startup Investment Summit 2025’ held at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome Hall. In her opening speech, Minister Oh stated, “The global corporate environment is shifting from a Big Tech-driven model dependent on large-scale infrastructure investments, like deep tech, to one centered around startups with advanced technologies. Korean startups are gaining global recognition for their innovation and creativity, as evidenced by 152 companies winning 210 innovation awards at CES 2025.” She encouraged investors to focus on Korean ventures and startups and said, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will fully support the realization of ‘Startup Korea’ by actively assisting in global fundraising efforts."
