Lee Young, the Minister of SMEs and Startups, visited Tongin traditional market in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to encourage mom and pop store owners who are still suffering from the impact of COVID-19 and to hear their opinions about the Ministry's loss recovery plans for micro-business owners.

The Minister visited the market to give hope and courage to store owners and micro-businesses while delivering the new policy agenda of the new administration, a complete recovery and a new leap forward for micro-businesses.

Minister Lee praised the small store owners for continuing to operate despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic.

"The utmost task to be undertaken for the revitalization of traditional markets is to turn them into more attractive places that capture people's attention," said the Minister.

She promised to come up with tailored measures for each traditional market, considering their location, key products, and nearby tourist spots, while equipping them with good infrastructure such as food delivery services.
