Ministry of SMEs and Startups

On July 27, Kwon Chil-seung, Minister of SMEs and Startups, held a meeting to revitalize traditional markets with Jeong Dong-sik, president of the Korea Merchant Association, and its branch heads. This event was prepared to listen to the voice of small businesses in traditional markets, which are having difficulties due to changes in the distribution environment such as the recent spread of COVID-19 and increase in online shopping. Minister Kwon discussed policy directions for supporting traditional markets, saying that the ministry will actively support management innovation such as characterization of traditional markets and foray into online and e-commerce.
