The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS, Minister OH Youngju) announced that it will dispatch a K-Startup delegation to VIVA Technology (VIVA Tech) 2025, Europe’s largest startup exhibition, held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, France, from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14 (local time).
VIVA Tech is Europe’s largest startup and innovation technology exhibition, held annually since 2016 by the French economic daily Les Echos and the advertising and public relations agency Publicis Groupe. VIVA Tech 2025 is expected to attract approximately 165,000 visitors and around 13,500 startups from around the world. Since Korea was selected as the Country of the Year at VIVA Tech 2023, MSS has been dispatching a K-Startup delegation to VIVA Tech each year to showcase the innovative technologies of Korean startups in the European market. This year, MSS is collaborating with domestic startup support organizations such as the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, the Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, Incheon Technopark, and Seoul AI Hub to operate a K-Startup Pavilion within the VIVA Tech exhibition hall. The initiative will support the participation of 26 promising Korean startups. Companies participating in the K-Startup Pavilion will receive structured support, including pre-exhibition training, customized business matching, and local networking opportunities. * K-Startup Pavilion booth locations: Hall 1, D-44 and K-11 In addition, MSS plans to host two events during VIVA Tech to help participating startups achieve tangible outcomes: K-Startup Night, a networking event involving local French investors, accelerators, and media outlets, and Super Pitch Korea, an IR pitching event targeting local investors and startup-related organizations. SHIM Jae-yoon, Director of Startup Policy Division, who attended the event to support the K-Startups, stated, “VIVA Tech is a valuable opportunity for Korean companies to validate their innovative technologies in the European market and expand global partnership opportunities.” He added, “MSS will actively support K-Startups so they can use VIVA Tech as a foothold to enter the European market more actively.” |
