Globalization of SMEs

Expanding the markets of SMEs to overseas is not only a crucial part of their business development, but also an indispensible factor of creating jobs. Thus, the globalization of SMEs is one of the most important policy goals of MSS. We enhance the export capacity of SMEs through our various policy tools. MSS has established 14 Export Support Centers at Regional Offices of MSS around the country in order to provide one-stop support and solve difficulties faced by exporting SMEs. At these Export Support Centers, SMEs can get policy support not only from MSS, but also from Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and other government-owned organizations on export-related problems. MSS's export facilitation programs include participating in global exhibitions, dispatching trade missions, enabling SMEs to join international supply chains, and other forms of overseas marketing. Moreover, MSS provides export-promotion programs which are connected to R&D, financing and other policy areas, such as "Global Highway Program" to foster, in the early stages, start-up enterprises with great growth potential into globally competitive small enterprises through intensively supporting their R&D, marketing, and export financing.
